Of course he has a knife, he always has a knife, we all have knives! It's 1183 and we're all barbarians!

Ahhh... showed Lion in Winter to a friend last night who'd never seen it. Does any movie have better one-liners?

1. and....
I made Louis take me on Crusade. I dressed my maids as Amazons and rode bare-breasted halfway to Damascus. Louis had a seizure and I damn near died of windburn... but the troops were dazzled.

3. My favorite line
is when he sees his offspring gallivanting around in their armor, and he lifts the visor of one of them to ask, "Which one are you?" The kid answers, "Richard the Third," and O'Toole absolutely bellows, "NOT YET!"

But when I first saw this, I thought it was the Crocodile Dundee reference, where he says, "That's not a knife," hauls a foot-long blade out of his sleeve, and says, "Now THIS is a knife!"

4. I think that's in "Beckett", the prequel
Also a very good movie.

"The Lion in Winter" is my favorite movie. Everyone in it is just so perfectly cast.
