I like music and lyrics that have a raw edge; such as Dylan, Lennon, Paul Simon, Townes Van Zandt, to name a few. Something about these guys really touches me emotionally.

Springsteen has never had that effect on me. I sense in his music an attempt to artificially force these feelings which, frankly, offends me.

His music always says to me: "lite rock with a phony edge".

I will admit he is a good musician, but that isn't enough for me.

11. I never liked him 'til I saw him in concert

on the Born in the USA tour. I was quite impressed. He works his (fine) ass off on stage, that's for sure. And the E-Street Band was pretty impressive.
