Did you get the feeling from the Marine recruiters in F9/11 that...
Edited on Sat Jun-26-04 03:30 PM by liberal_veteran
...if one of the guys they were targeting had said he wanted to sit around and surf the web and masturbate to child porn while smoking crack, the recruiter would have said "The Marine Corps could help you do that! Come see us on Monday!"?

3. I bet he could have cited several well known child molesters...
...who were Marine Corps veterans.

"You know son, the CIA and the Marines invented crack, and the internet started as a military project... we have the best connection speed and encryption. Plus, we can probably get you stationed in Afghanistan, where you can get all the heroin you want, and there's no law to keep you from doing unspeakable things to children. I have an appointment available this afternoon down at the recruiting office..."

4. LOL!
Hilarious!!

It made me want to :puke: when he said, well, did you know Shaggy was in the Marines? If you're going to be in the music industry, then you'll need to learn some discipline...learn to how handle your money...."

Riiiiight.

5. I confronted a couple of them at the local Junior College....
They were all dressed up like the ones in the movie, and had a few suckers on the line. I walked up and started shouting "Don't sign up you'll be sorry!" I asked the recruiters "How dare you come on this campus to drum up cannon-fodder for Bush's phony-baloney war on terrorism?" They were absolutely stunned and couldn't come up with a response. The students jaws were on their chests as they drifted away. Everyone looked at me like I was a lunatic, but I was pretty proud of myself.

Heh, heh!

6. 21 years after I joined the Marine Corps,
Seeing that segment was the first time I ever felt ashamed to be a Marine. And I lived through Ollie Fucking North.

I have a lot of soul-searching to do.

7. Nothing to be ashamed about....Recruiters can be sleazy.
And I think we know they'll say just about anything they can to meet their quota.

Those of us who have been there know they have a way of making the Armed Services sound like the funnest summer camp in the whole wide world.

"Look, there's one--he's trying to run away!"
Made my skin crawl.
