1. How about a one-way ticket to Switzerland?
It might come in handy in a few months.

Seriously though, what about a gift certificate at her favorite store? I know it seems impersonal, but for kids that age, its a practical idea.

Personally, I love gift certificates. There are such variations in peoples' tastes that it's very difficult to find the right gift.

3. How about a Kevlar vest? She may need it by this time next year.
No disrespect intended, but depending on the results of the upcoming election, I may have to gift my own 19-year-old with a Kevlar vest.
Definitely not a pleasant thought.

8. LOL
My friend once sent me a link that to an mp3 that played two of their songs overtop of each other. I don't know the songs, but they each had IDENTICAL structure (chorus, verse, bridges, all occured at exactly the same time), the notes on the chorus were even identical. I must've listened to it like a million times, I was laughing my ass off.

5. How about tickets to something fun?

Like a concert. And, when it comes to gifts for college grads, you can't go wrong with money.

-------------------

On Edit: Maybe something for her to use, when she moves out on her own. A George Foreman-type grill didn't seem like a good present at the time, but I used it almost everyday in college.

Or a set of shot glasses. Your pick ;)

Jewelry is always special, especially from family. The only general suggestion is to make it portable enough that she can bring it with her as she moves from dorm to dorm or from home to apartment or whatever. Otherwise, it might be burdensome.

7. I think Cash..
is a traditional graduation gift. It doesn't have to be much.

9. How about cash?
That's all I wanted for graduation, cause I had mad amounts of books, tuition, and other things that needed to be paid for. Cash may seem simple, but for people like myself, it was a necessary for my college survival.

Also, if this is a college graduation, cash also helps, cause she might need to save for a new car, somewhere to live, pay off loans, etc.

11. Okay, this may seem corny,
but aunts have the privelege of being corny! Some of these books look good, why not take a look at the local bookstore?

13. Cash is good, but if she's going to college
and you don't like to give cash, give her a gift certificate to Bed, Bath and Beyond or Linens and Things or even Target so that she can decorate her dorm/apartment.

14. That's a great idea.
Gift certificates are always handy, especially if she can use the one you pick online.
