F911- Am I the only one feeling vindicated these days?
The last few years when I've told people many of the things shown in this movie - some (not all - thank God) would give me the 'that's all a conspiracy' comebacks, or 'the govt wouldn't let that happen', or my favorite - "I've never seen that on the news or in our newspapers!".

Now I'm hearing.. "OH MY GOD I can't believe those bastards - we've got to get rid of them"

I TOLD YOU SO!!!!!!

Better late than never I guess but this is one time it sucks to be right :-(

1. What part of the country are you in?
Around here, everyone's been anti-Bush, and this state was never going to go for him (CA). It would be nice to know that people in the swing states are starting to wake up.

3. I'm in So Cal
there's a mix of left and right around me. the weird thing is even people that don't like Bush weren't buying the links to the Saudis and that the govt would ever have such conflicts of interests. They had blind faith in what our govt is SUPPOSED to be.

They are now seeing reality and it pisses them off and scares them at the same time

2. I'm with you
Trying to avoid smugness and hubris is the biggest challenge. At this point encouraging people to learn more on their own is my move.

6. No vindication until November.
Only crushing defeat of busholini inc. will be adequate vindication.

7. I think this film will have the biggest impact on those who don't
typically pay attention to politics. I didn't really learn anything new by seeing the film because I went in knowing how corrupt and self serving this administration is. It did reconfirmed my feelings on this evil regime, that is for sure. But to those who are taking in this information for the first time, Moore did a great job of connecting the dots and I know at the very least, it will get people to think about this administration and what they are doing in our name.

9. I totally understand this one
When I started questioning the blatant lies and easily digging up these facts years ago, I couldn't sleep. I mentioned a few things and got the same exact type of responses. Freepers are notorious of putting blinders on tight and making sure nothing seeps in through the openings. It's amazing how they think that no bad apples could ever be in charge of our government, especially God fearing Republicans.

The saddest part is that while these faithful Republicans refuse to turn their back on BushCo., BushCo. will screw them over as equally as they're screwing us over. Unless they are financial contributors to their causes, benefitting direct kick backs, the rest of them are goners. That's the only time the bipartisan stops with them.

And they refuse to see it. Amazing!

10. I am the only vocal anti-war person in my Family
I am the fourth oldest of my Fathers 18 children. Of course there is a wide range of philosophies in my Family. I have always voiced my opinions to my siblings and being against this war and this pseudo-president was no different.

Micheal Moore came to Grand Rapids in Febuary and I posted a picture of him on our Family web site..... whew... I didn't get political or say ANYTHING about his views... Just that there was a standing room only crowd that left many of us outside in the cold. Moore came outside and spoke to us and thanked us for coming. I took his picture and posted on our Family web site.

I had one sister... respond..."No Kidding". She couldn't believe that so many people were interested in this guy. I told her that I intended to vote for W. Clark in the upcoming primaries because that is who M. Moore was endorsing.

I recieved over 17 pages of how immoral he was. How unpatriotic he was. That he twists the truth.... My Family is about 25 percent neo conservative. I asked if they had read his books... of course they hadn't. EVERYTHING they responded with was told to them.

Anyway... Yes I do feel vindicated... I was called a traitor...a sympathizer of the enemy..(this is when I wanted to have an Iraqi citizen meet my Family online to give a first hand accounting of what was happening in his country). I have been called a soap box whiner along with all the other soap box whiners in hollywood and those that opposed the war.

I haven't visited my Families web in over three months. I couldn't take it anymore. :-(

13. Welcome to DU Jokinomx!
:hi:

Sorry that you've had such a tough time with your family. I hope that some of them will be dragged into F 9/11!

14. Thank You...
I do feel welcome here. I do have some Brothers that agree with me... but choose not to rock the boat. I have stayed in contact with them through email and the phone. My Mother... is very angry at me for not visiting our Families web site... and was so upset with me for not caring anymore, that she hung up on me crying last week. I have to say it is not a fun position for me to be in. She is absolutely a wonderful person. Yet I have unintentionally put her in a lot of pain. I really don't know how to procede.... Any suggestions? I love everyone in my Family... but I can't stand the neo-conservative... born again Christian stance they always bring up. My Mother said they have all decided not to talk about controversial topics anymore... just Family news and pictures... as we are all spread out around the Midwest, its a great way to stay in touch with everybody. Anyway... its a tough time for me with segments of my Family...

Again... Thanks for the warm welcome.... and I hope to get to know each of you better as I read your posts.

12. No, you aren't the only one
I just got back from Ohio, where I saw F-9/11 with a group of friends. Back in early 2002, I got my first computer (the Mac I use now) and immediately began researching why the F-15s didn't fly on 9/11 (a question I had since the day itself). Right away, I found out about the Caspian oil pipeline, Ashcroft not flying commercial aircraft prior to 9/11, and the Bin Laden family flight out of the US. I didn't discover DU until much later that year, but felt like I had come home when I did. The work Ewing2001 and Sterling had done really helped to connect the dots. I had one liberal friend who, along with many of his friends and family, nearly had gone Dennis Miller on me. I was determined to bring him back into the light. We talked regularly late at night, as we are both self employed artists with hellish deadlines (he's the creator of the popular "Bone" comic book series). At first he thought I was just a wacky conspiracy theorist. It wasn't until about five months ago that he really began to believe me. I attended F-9/11 with he, his wife and friends. They all didn't think Bush* was that bad before the film, and said "We'll have to send Jeff and Jen to another row, let the wacky conspiracy theorists get insane with Bush hate together"!

Well, after the show, they apologized to us, and to me in particular! All during the film, Jeff kept nudging me as article after article that I had sent him was brought up on screen. The others said that they felt as devastated after the film as they did after 9/11; their whole world was turned upside down. They said that Bush-someone they thought "deserved the benefit of the doubt"before the movie- deserved to be jettisoned onto a lifeless planet! They added that November can't come soon enough! :-)
