they were flat most of the time and didn't hit the notes

good thing they can do multiple takes in the studio

3. I saw Bob Weir on Letterman once

He said, "Let me know if the Grateful Dead ever puts out a good album". Even he knows they are fairly mediocre musicians and singers.

I like the Dead - saw them less than 3 months before Jerry went to the Great Bong In The Sky, and saw Phil Lesh's Band 5 years later. I am even pleased that Warren Haynes has a spot in the new Dead lineup. He may be the best musician they have ever had. Fun band, but pretty sloppy and dull sometimes.
