Just a thought: what would John Lennon, if he had lived, thought of

Michael Moore? Being that Lennon was a spokesman for peace and justice and used his music and fame to promote these ideals, I was just pondering this. Thoughts?

4. Gimme Some Truth, John Lennon
I’m sick and tired of hearing things
From uptight, short-sighted, narrow-minded hypocritics
All I want is the truth
Just gimme some truth
I’ve had enough of reading things
By neurotic, psychotic, pig-headed politicians
All I want is the truth
Just gimme some truth

No short-haired, yellow-bellied, son of tricky dicky
Is gonna mother hubbard soft soap me
With just a pocketful of hope
Money for dope
Money for rope

No short-haired, yellow-bellied, son of tricky dicky
Is gonna mother hubbard soft soap me
With just a pocketful of soap
Money for dope
Money for rope

I’m sick to death of seeing things
From tight-lipped, condescending, mama’s little chauvinists
All I want is the truth
Just gimme some truth now

I’ve had enough of watching scenes
Of schizophrenic, ego-centric, paranoiac, prima-donnas
All I want is the truth now
Just gimme some truth

No short-haired, yellow-bellied, son of tricky dicky
Is gonna mother hubbard soft soap me
With just a pocketful of soap
It’s money for dope
Money for rope

Ah, I’m sick and tired of hearing things
From uptight, short-sighted, narrow-minded hypocrites
All I want is the truth now
Just gimme some truth now

I’ve had enough of reading things
By neurotic, psychotic, pig-headed politicians
All I want is the truth now
Just gimme some truth now

All I want is the truth now
Just gimme some truth now
All I want is the truth
Just gimme some truth
All I want is the truth
Just gimme some truth

5. Yeah, baby! The NRA membership bothers me, though, personally.
I do respect Moore a lot for having the guts to speak out against injustice and for the "working class" folks.

WORKING CLASS HERO

As soon as you're born they make you feel small
By giving you no time instead of it all
Till the pain is so big you feel nothing at all
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be

They hurt you at home and they hit you at school
They hate you if you're clever and they despise a fool
Till you're so fucking crazy you can't follow their rules
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be

When they've tortured and scared you for 20 odd years
Then they expect you to pick a career
When you can't really function you're so full of fear
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be
Keep you doped wit religion and sex and TV
And you think you're so clever and classless and free
But you're still fucking peasants as far as I can see
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be

There's room at the top they are telling you still
But first you must learn how to smile as you kill
If you want to be like the folks on the hill

A working class hero is something to be
If you want to be a hero just follow me
If you want to be a hero well just follow me

8. Lennon would be a US citizen by now,
and, I believe, a proud supporter of John Kerry. I think Bush would remind him a great deal of Nixon, and after Lennon's hassles with the Nixon Administration, that would certainly not be a positive thing. Being a New Yorker himself, he would have been shocked and angered by the events of 11 September. So, I think he would like Moore and Moore's latest film.

Ironically, Lennon was probably among the first to suggest that Ralph Nader run for President. He mentioned during his co-hosting stint on The Mike Douglas Show that Nader should run for President and appoint him (Lennon) as Minister of Music. I wonder what he would make of Nader's current run for President...

9. Lennon would have been a big fan of Michael Moore
I know this, because I'm a Beatleologist.

broke up, sadly).

We all shine on...
