Freddie Mercury had it all figured out....
Imagine what kind of man could be terminally ill, and still find the strength to record these words...

Damn.

"While the sun hangs in the sky and the desert has sand
While the waves crash in the sea and meet the land
While there's a wind and the stars and the rainbow
Till the mountains crumble into the plain
Oh yes we'll keep on tryin'
Tread that fine line
Oh we'll keep on tryin' yeah
Just passing our time
hile we live according to race, colour or creed
While we rule by blind madness and pure greed
Our lives dictated by tradition, superstition, false religion
Through the eons, and on and on
Oh yes we'll keep on tryin'
We'll tread that fine line
Oh oh we'll keep on tryin'
Till the end of time
Till the end of time

Through the sorrow all through our splendour
Don't take offence at my innuendo

You can be anything you want to be
Just turn yourself into anything you think that you could ever be
Be free with your tempo, be free be free
Surrender your ego - be free, be free to yourself

Oooh, ooh -
If there's a God or any kind of justice under the sky
If there's a point, if there's a reaason to live or die
If there's an answer to the questions we fill born to ask
Show yourself - destroy our fears - release your mask
Oh we'll keep on tryin'
Hey treat that fine line
Yeah we'll keep on smailing yeah
And whatever will be - will be
We'll just keep on trying
We'll just keep on trying
Till the end of time
Till the end of time
Till the end of time"

and also...

"Empty spaces - what are we living for
Abandoned places - I guess we know the score
On and on, does anybody know what we are loking for...
Another hero, another mindless crime
Behind the curtain, in the pantomime
Hold the line, does anybody want to take it anymore

The show must go on
The show must go on
Inside my heart is breaking
My make-up may be flaking
But my smile still stays on.

Whatever happens, I'll leave it all to chance
Another heartache, another failed romance
On and on, does anybody know what we are living for ?

I guess I'm learning, I must be warmer now
I'll soon be turning, round the corner now
Outside the dawn breaking
But inside in the dark I'm aching to be free

The show must go on
The show must go on
Inside my heart is breaking
My make-up may be flaking
But my smile still stays on

My soul is painted like the wings of butterflies
Fairytales of yesterday will grow but never die
I can fly - my friends

The show must go on
The show must go on
I'll face it with a grin
I'm never giving in
On - with the show -

I'll top the bill, I'll overkill
I have to find the will to carry on
On with the -
On with the show -
The show must go on..."

5. Sigh, Freddy Mercury's voice just brings goosebumps to me
He had it. No one like him (ahem, yes, I'm talking to you, The Darkness!!!) will EVER compare.

Great song...and so melancholy, always makes me want to cry.

13. Well, well! I'll be!
I'm in Bellingham, a bit on the other side from Nanaimo, but wow! I haven't been to Canada yet. I do not trust my car. LOL!!! The transmission is going out. Anyhoo...nice to meet someone somewhat nearby! :)

I'm originally from Monterey, CA!

But he didn't have it "all" figured out or he wouldn't be dead.

9. Here's the one that gets to me the most
"These Are the Days Of Our Lives"

Sometimes I get to feelin'
I was back in the old days - long ago
When we were kids, when we were young
Things seemed so perfect - you know ?
The days were endless, we were crazy - we were young
The sun was always shinin' - we just lived for fun
Sometimes it seems like lately - I just don't know
The rest of my life's been - just a show

Those were the days of our lives
The bad things in life were so few
Those days are all gone now but one thing is true
When I look and I find I still love you

You can't turn back the clock, you can't turn back the tide
Ain't that a shame ?
Ooh, I'd like to go back one time on a roller coaster ride
When life was just a game
No use in sitting and thinkin' on what you did
When you can lay back and enjoy it through your kids
Sometimes it seems like lately - I just don't know
Better sit back and go - with the flow

'Cos these are the days of our lives
They've flown in the swiftness of time
These days are all gone now but some things remain
When I look and I find - no change
Those were the days of our lives yeah
The bad things in life were so few
Those days are all gone now but one thing's still true
When I look and I find, I still love you
I still love you

10. Oh, one more
"Is This the World We Created?"

Just look at all those hungry mouths we have to feed
Take a look at all the suffering we breed
So many lonely faces scattered all around
Searching for what they need

Is this the world we created?
What did we do it for?
Is this the world we invaded
Against the law?
So it seems in the end
Is this what we're all living for today?
The world that we created

You know that every day a helpless child is born
Who needs some loving care inside a happy home
Somewhere a wealthy man is sitting on his throne
Waiting for life to go by

Is this the world we created?
We made it on our own
Is this the world we devastated
Right to the bone?
If there's a God in the sky looking down
What can he think of what we've done
To the world that He created?

12. Sigh...
Freddie and Queen were awesome. They are and always will be my favorite band. Sad to think that Freddie's been gone for 12 years (he passed away exactly 1 week to the day after my 17th birthday :().

I still miss him. Queen was and still is excellent! There are very few artists that I truly miss but Freddie is one of them.
