17. WHOA! That big red square must be it. A 4+ on the scale?
Edited on Mon Jun-28-04 01:56 AM by Dover
Seems like quakes in that area would be fairly rare.

I wonder if all that clustering around MO. ARK. TN is normal activity?

29. That cluster ...
is part of the New Madrid fault, which we keep hearing is going to go 'any time now' and unleash some level of destruction to about eight states. It's in Missouri and runs somewhere near the Mississippi -- the last time there was a major New Madrid jump, it actually changed the course of the Mississippi river, or so I think I remember reading. We've felt temblors from it as far east as northern Kentucky/southern Ohio, so it may well do some damage if it shrugs any time soon.

Edited on Mon Jun-28-04 02:46 AM by RatTerrier
Used to live in N. California, so I guess I really didn't notice it.

My girlfriend freaked out. Knocked some stuff off a bookshelf.

Here's a link given on WGN:

One can oly hope so. For some reason, Bush is leading in the polls, yet we have a Dem Governor and two Dem Senators.
