So who here is stuck in a town that isn't playing F 9/11?
Oh, I'm beyond outrage right now. Farenheit 9/11 is the number one film in the country, and here I am trapped in a town that doesn't have a single theater playing it. Oh, sure, they have "White Chicks" playing on three screens, but not the hottest movie in the nation. It's even more frustrating when I see all of the topics about it here on DU, and I might have to wait until it comes out on DVD in October.

Who here is suffering the same plight?

1. Don't feel so bad....
Between DUers I can pretty much assure you that 90% of the content in this movie should come as no surprise to you, it didn't for me. The movie does offer an emotional rollercoaster of happiness to sadness in presenting this material.... My experience was good, and the audience applauded when the movie ended....Hope you see it soon... :)

5. Playing in Shreveport - I recommend a road trip.
Cinemark Tinseltown
8400 Millicent Way, Shreveport, LA, 71105

Fahrenheit 9/11

It seems it's not playing in Ruston, Jackson, or Vicksburg.

6. Me!
I am about 80 miles away from the only theater around that is playing it and it happens to be located in a REALLY bad neighborhood. The price of gasoline, tickets and our car getting stolen just isn't worth it.

7. We are leaving
in about 5 1/2 hours to drive into another city to see it. It is a little over an hour for us, not far at all. Still, you would think that every theater would be clamoring for this film (they are normally such greedy bastards). They still are not certain here in the capital city of Kansas that it would be a money maker.

8. more Moore
I think it'll be added to double the number of theatres it's currently in. They know it's a hit now!

9. Town? Hell, I'm stuck in a STATE where it's only showing
in ONE theater, hundreds of miles from here. Poor, tragic, Mississippi. :(

12. Sounds like a good motivation for a trip to New Orleans
or Memphis.

Worth the trip. Seriously. Just go watch it down at Canal Place in New Orleans, then hit the French Quarter for a couple stiff ones.

10. Me, too. It is not playing in my town, nor the nearest one, as well
My friend planned to see it, tonight, but it is only playing an hour to an hour and a half away. I guess we're going to have to drive or just remain content, waiting. MoveOn has organized these parties where people can discuss the film and participate in Michael Moore's Town Meeting on Monday night. The closest one to me is in the next town where they aren't even showing the movie. Where are these people planning to see it? It may possibly make its way here, by way of the only theatre that isn't a chain, in time. We'll have to make up our own thread at that time.

BTW, it is coming out on DVD in September. Michael Moore made sure that it would come out early. He must have been thinking of us poor fools and the Republican Convention.

11. I am. @#$%&*!
Two weeks ago, a staff member at the local "upscale" multiplex told me it would open here on 6/25. Naturally, it didn't. I asked him about it: he said an "executive decision" was made to not show it because "there weren't enough screens". Apparently there were enough screens for "White Chicks" and the other idiotic pieces of crap that did open. He assured me it wasn't any maliciousness on the part of the owners, they'd try to get it ASAP, yada yada yada.

So it's an hour plus drive to Atlanta to see it. My wife, God love her, just wasn't up to the drive. So we didn't go.

13. Jackson MS -- not showing the film, dammit!
I got soooooooooooo pissed off Friday when I discovered that not one theater in the city is showing it. I wrote to the editor of the Jackson Free Press, my letter is being printed this week.

14. Turn a hassle into an overnight in New Orleans.
Hotel rooms are dirt cheap right now, and the movie's playing at Canal Place right next to the French Quarter.

It's worth it.

18. Good call!
I'm going to Florida for the MS Mar Convention next week, and my wife and I will try to see it there. If not, a hop over to NOLA might be in order.

16. Waldorf, Maryland, here. We'll have to go to DC or Virginia to see it.
Living in the Styx has its disadvantages. (But they're far outweighed by the good.)
