1. My FAVORITE moment at the Millenium Celebration...

was when Fogerty sang "Fortunate Son" on the steps of the Capital, with MANY senators & reps looking on non too pleased thank you...

It was an amazing moment, and Fogerty truly had some chutzpah to perform this in front of them...

2. The great thing about the song is

He wrote it from the point of view of a man who had to serve and could not afford to buy a deferment, yet it was also a jab at the college protesters, too. An anti-war song from someone who actually served (which Fogerty did, if I recall).
