1. What I can't figure out

is why it's per-theater numbers aren't a record. I've never before heard of a movie playing to so many sold-out theaters. Maybe F9/11 played mostly in the smaller theaters at the multi-plexes, rather than their largest ones. I guess that would account for it.

Which means if it had been placed in the largest theaters in each venue, it would have broken the per-theater records. And if it had gotten a wider release, it would have made even more money.

Of course the real marker will be how it does next weekend.

2. It shattered per-theater records as it is!

Only in 800 or so theaters, and still made 21.8 million.

"White Chicks" made under 20 million, when shown in three times as many theaters.

F911 will make a few records - already the highest-grossing documentary.
