Poll question: Heavy Metal....Noize?
:headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

Head bangers in leather
Sparks fly in the dead of the night
It all comes together
When they shoot out the lights
50,000 wats of power
And it's pushin' overload
The beast is ready to devour
All the metal they can hold
Reachin' overload
Start to explode

It's your one way ticket to midnight
Call it Heavy Metal
Higher than high, feelin' just right
Call it Heavy Metal
Desperation on a red line
Call it Heavy Metal noise

Tight pants and lipstick
She's riding on razor's edge
She holds her own against the boys
Yea, cuts through the crowd just like a wedge
Ohh, can you feel the static
So many contacts being made
We've got up front fanatics
Tearing down the barricade
To reach the stage
Can you feel the rage :headbang:

8. Depends How One Defines "heavy Metal"
I'm Sure Someone Refers To Band You Like As "Heavy Metal" Maybe Not, But I've Heard The Stones Called "Heavy Metal" :wtf: So It's All In How One Defies The Term.

15. I htought Led Zeppelin was just a guy
...when I was really young. Jethro Tull too. Of course, there really was a guy named Jethro Tull who they named the band after. He invented some kind of farm related machinery.

5. I appreciate it more
My best friend got my husband and I into metal music, although I suppose my husband was mildly into it before. I think that it is really powerful. I appreciate it better musically after hearing it a couple times. I finally figured out that the reason that I don't like it the first time through is because I anticipate what pitches come next as they do in classical or more traditional music. Since a lot of metal music does not follow standard melody patterns (probably technically called something else in music theory), it sounds odd the first time I hear any given song, especially if I haven't been listening to that band lately.

24. Show Business ~AC/DC....
You learn to sing...
You learn to play...
Why don't the biznessman...
Ever learn to pay...

That's show bizness...
Show bizness...
Show bizness...
That's the way it goes...

You play in halls...
You play in bars...
You're climbin' walls....
Chasin' stars...

You pay the men...
you pay your dues...
When it's all gone...
You sing the blues...

You wanna roll...
You wanna rock...
But you find it hard...
If your guitar's in hock....

We smoke our butts...
They smoke cigars...
We drown in debt...
They drown in bars...

You pull a chick...
Take her home...
No use man...
You'r worn out to the bone...:headbang:

25. Played bass in numerous Hevy Metul bands in the 80's
So I'm kinda burned out on it.

Never liked the really dark stuff (Merciful Fate, King Diamond, Venom, Slayer...)

These days I'm really into Jann Arden. ;)

27. Recently Downloaded "Generation Landslide"
Alice was the man... albeit with a woman's name...

Didn't dig his 80's attempts at remaining relevant, though.

29. I can sum up heavy metal in 4 letters and a dot: T. Rex
"You can bump and grind,
It is good for your mind.
Or you can twist and shout,
Let it all hang out

But you won't fool
The children of the revolution
No you won't fool
The children of the revolution
No no no..."
