Just Saw Fahrenheit 9/11 (Short review, possible spoilers)
Edited on Tue Jun-29-04 04:17 PM by AlFrankenFan
Edit: Mods, not sure If I posted in the right forum. Sorry 'bout that.

Yes, I too would like to participate in the festivities of including myself in the circle of people who have seen Fahrenheit 9/11!

After waiting for 24 minutes for my friend, Suzanne, and her mother (me, my brother, LiberalManiacFromOC, and Suzanne are all under 17, so we needed her mother to chaperone), we finally, with six minutes to go until showtime, were let in.

At first, after the opening credits rolled, it was pitch black. I was wondering if that was actually there, or if the damn conservative theater edited out the scene for a reason, cause only the sound played. Or did Moore exempt the footage as to not exploit it for the purpose of his movie?

Overall, not to spoil anything, I think it was well put together and very, very well done. Out of five stars, I'd give it a four point five. It was very clever of Moore to have read the PATRIOT Act like that to Congress and to ask those congressman to send their children to Iraq - I believe the ones whom he questioned voted for the war, right?

One other thing - is there a link I can get to see Ashcroft singing, because that had me in tears I was laughing so hard.

Peace

3. The darkened screen during the 9/11 scene was intentional
I think he did a very good job with that.

4. the black was intentional
after the opening credits rolled, it was pitch black

I think a lot of us have gotten "used to" that footage, and it's become easy not to really think about what happened that day. Having only the sounds there kinda took me back to it all.

5. It was a classy thing to do showing a ... (Beware Spoilers)
dark screen with only sound for the W/T/C disaster. It was an excellent movie.

7. Greatest movie ever!
Edited on Tue Jun-29-04 04:32 PM by LiberalManiacfromOC
Edit: I forgot to add that Moore was clever with the Patriot act

It was the best movie i have ever seen. The first movie to ever make me cry (altough my eyes were just watering and i didn't make any sound). The part with all of the Iraqi civilians was so depressing. I have a new found hate for bush and everything he stands for.

amazing numbers for a theater in Orange County, California.

19. Not at all. I want to know all about it so I will be prepared
My friend said that there are "disturbing scenes" in it. I don't do well with "disturbing scenes." I want to know exactly what they are and when to expect them, so I can go get popcorn or just hide under my seat, LOL!:D

20. I saw the movie last night
and I left the theater pissed!! It just reinforced for me the moron that we have in the oval office right now. I have to say that Michael Moore knew his audience and try us lions lots of good red meat!
