Not that I am paying mind you.

The newscast I saw on it said you have the choice of 60 movies to watch. That report also said it was to Newark, after 18 1/2 hours you might just be glad to SEE Newark - :bounce:

World's longest flight begins service today
At 18 and a half hours, Singapore Airline's newest routing (between New York and Singapore) is long enough to watch the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy—an option offered by the in-flight entertainment system

SINGAPORE - Singapore Airlines launched on Monday what it touts as the world's longest commercial service —an 18 1/2 hour, 16,670-kilometer (10,335-mile) non-stop flight between the Southeast Asian city-state and New York.

Economy class seats sell for just over 2,000 Singapore dollars (US$1,160) return.

The service will fly daily and increases the number of Singapore Airlines flights to New York to 14 from 11.

Singapore Airlines spokesman Rick Clements said the load factor on the flight needs to be higher than 70 percent to make it successful.

2. Singapore to NYC?
How about NYC to NYC? On a Boeing 777 or Airbus 320? Round the world flight?

6. I really don't see that selling well
Sure for the curious but who would want to spend that much time on an airplane just to be on an airplane? Maybe it is just me.

4. the jet lag would be hell
I hate traveling. I wish I could just wiggle my nose and magically appear at my destination.

7. I can't WAIT for the programmable cars
I don't like spending a lot of time in a car. I do like hauling a** from time to time but I can't wait until we can crawl in a minivan-esque vehicle punch in our destination and take a nap or play cards or watch TV-that will be great!

There actually is a stretch of road built into the forrest near Blacksburg Va. and the Va. Tech engineering school is working on it. Controlled by magnets or so I have read.

10. I've always fantasized about that too
Being able to nap would be a huge selling point for me. It would be a great time to curl up to a good book...like during slow rush hour traffic, but unfortunately reading in a car makes me car sick. :(

11. That is one trip I would never fly in coach
I would be kicking out the walls of the plane after about 12 hours.

Singapore Air is renowned for its luxurious business class and first class service, but by all accounts, its coach class is cramped, despite having very good food and seatback screens.

If I were flying NY to Singapore, I'd want to break up the trip with a stopover in LA, another one in Honolulu, and another one in Japan or Hong Kong. I did Tokyo to New York non-stop once, back in the days when you still had decent legroom and seat widths in coach, and I was a jet lag zombie for a full week--when I was a young and vigorous 27.
