Poll question: Fahrenheit 9/11 vs. The Fog of War: Which did you like better
I hate to say it, after watching "The Fog of War" on DVD last night - if both of those movies were up for an Oscar I would have to pick FOW. It was an amazingly powerful movie based on interviews with Robert S McNamera, secretary of Defense under both JFK & LBJ. The director Error Morris did this amazing job of interweaving McNamera's interview with visuals from the various eras. And I learned so much more especially about how cruelly we had bombed Tokyo (I loved when Morris compared the distruction of various Japanese Cities to their equivilant in America: 40% of Tokyo destroyed would be like 40% of NYC destroyed).

And it was amazing to see some of LBJ's justification as to why we had to go into Vietnam, which parrelells some of GWB's horrible justification as to why we're in Iraq.

All I can say is MUST WATCH for "The Fog of War: Eleven Lessons from the Life of Robert S. McNamara"

Now for the poll question for the day - especially for those who have seen both F9/11 and FOW - which did you think was better?

1. Hmmm. haven't seen 911F yet

But something's wrong with your poll...

And I did like FOW, I learned a lot from it, (but the soundtrack drove me batty after a while.)

2. I loved the soundtrack
But then again I love music with Cellos in them.

And I'm not sure what happened with DU that my poll entries did not work yet.

3. I love cellos too

And in the beginning, I thought "what a great soundtrack"
but then it just kept repeating the same, whaddya call it, the same song again and again...

Anyway, that hardly matters! It was an excellent movie any way you cut it.
