What is the vinyl album you haven't upgraded to cd but most wish you had?

Yes, I am the Tortured Syntax God. So sue me. Mine is Bursting Out Live by Jethro Tull. I think there are two reasons why I haven't bought the cd (assuming it's out on cd; if it isn't, that would make 3, wouldn't it?): sides two and three are still running through my head constantly from when I played it all the time in the '80s; and they would do so even worse if I bought it again and started heavy rotation all over again. Also, Ian Anderson's introductions are very witty, but you only need to hear them a couple of times before they get wearying, as with all live records. ("Did you give it a good shake?") Anyway, share with us your vinyl memories from yesteryear, or I'll have to start another friggin' singer/songwriter poll.

2. Note...

For transferring wax to CD.. I reccomend recording into Sound Forge.

You can de-pop, de-hiss and all kinds of stuff.. they even have plugins to make vinyl sound really good...special EQs and what not.

For someone with alot of records they want on CD... it's a worthwhile effort.

5. Black Sabbath - We Sold Our Sould for Rock & Roll

Maaaaan I had a hellova vinyl collection for a 13-year-old metalhead. Then I discovered the Vandals, turned punk and sold ALL my metal - even when the guy at the record store tried to talk me out of it. Every now and then I scour the cheap CD bin for some Sabbath or Iron Maiden, but figure I could always get that stuff so I go with something new instead.

6. Don't like CDs! Vinyl rules!!

After many years, I once heard Sgt Peppers on CD. It was horrible -- half the band were missing, it sounded like. NOT the album I grew up with!!

If we didn't need CDs in 1967, we don't need them now! :-)

7. The one that can't be had on either

Pharoah Sanders 'Love is Everywhere". I finally found a decent copy on one of the file sharing services before they started to blink out, thank gods.

The only vinyl I have right now is a very bad, scratchy copy picked up sencond hand for a few dollars. Original was given away by ex.

I even tried to borrow a vinyl copy, and only seven libraries in teh U.S. listed it and none would loan it.
