I'm in love with a shoe
Yes. I'm in love with a shoe.

If anyone has a problem with that, then they can......well, you know.

What are you in love with?

18. Get The Ones With The ankle strap and...

cut the ankle strap off. Treat the exposed leather with black fingernail polish (wet'N'Wild at your local drug store. 99 cents) and you have your shoes.

The missus does it all the time.

4. Wish I were in love with a shoe
but instead I am in love with Starbucks Almond Fudge Coffee icecream.

But back to shoes. I am looking for a pair of shoes. I need them to be black, a lowish heel, closed toe and sling back.

Now, you'd THINK that would be fairly easy to find, right?

Oh HELL no. Everything I have found has been like this:

1. Toe is SO damn pointy I could use it as a weapon. "Oh yeah, voting for bush, eh? Well TAKE THIS!" and shove it in their eye, straight through to their brain, a la Single White Female. No thanks my toes hurt just looking at that Extreme Pointy Shit.

2. The sling back part has this huge leather part that goes all the way around the ankle or laces around the leg or some shit. I am wanting to wear the shoes to work and I do NOT work as a dominatrix, ok?

3. The heel. Can we let go of the huge clunky 70s heel, for the love of all that is good and holy? Sure 13 year olds LOVE 'em, but let's let this go now. Kitten heels and clunky platform heels should not exist in the same universe, ok?

Ok rant done. Going to yet another five shoe stores tomorrow in the eternal quest.

6. I think for you
maybe you should try to have a relationship with some simple sandals. They may become your best friends. Give it a chance!

I am going to go postal if I don't find them. I live in a MAJOR METROPOLITAN area for Christ sake.

19. Is it common for treefrogs
to have intimate relations with footwear? Do those sorts of relationships usually work out?

By the way, I once knew a pigeon that used to have love affairs with people shoes. If you were standing around and he liked your shoe, he would just fly over and start making love to it.

Who can ask or answer why? It just is.

Work out? I think they do for as long as it is a relationship that is comfortable.

I feel sorry for pigeons.

Don't be ashamed of your shoe love. Embrace it for the joy your shoes give you. It really is a beautiful thing. :D

When a shoe comes to you
You do what you have to do.
(and the shoe does too)

words to live by.
