Why I won't be spending much time on DU in the near future
We are at a crucial time in US politics and it is so terribly important that we all work to get Kerry/Edwards and as many Democrats elected to both local/state and federal offices.

With children, a job and because my role as a committee woman is moving into high gear, I have to stay away from DU because it is such a great place to just get lost in conversation with my fellow Democrats and my free time must be spent with the local Democratic activities.

So I may post some local events in the PA forum and I will defintely browse about and post intermittently...but alas I must stay off for lengthy periods so that I can stay focused...Mr B is going to help me with this..cuz this place can be addictive. Through DU I have met many great local Democrats in my area so please don't think me anti-social...I am just overwhelmed.

Every local Democratic group needs your help. If they don't call you back...keep calling...they are busy and to be honest a bit disorganized cuz the party machinery only gets really moving in election years like this...and so don't take it personally....they need your help, they want your help and you need to be persistent and you need to have leathery skin cuz the Democratic party is a big tent and you may meet people you find abrasive or a bit farther from you in opinion...just keep focused on the goal VICTORY FOR KERRY/EDWARDS!

Find out if there are open committee slots...you can be appointed by your party chairperson to fill empty slots...and then work to get the grassroots movement going.

Host a party, get a sign...phone bank and walk your neighborhood.

It's sunny outside now...I am going to play with the kids, then take a break and do more planning for a political party I am having in August for State Senator Allen Kukovich and the future Kerry Parties I have planned....

and last but not least if you live in Westmoreland County PA...check out our website at www.westmorelanddemocrats.com and drop me an email at westmorelanddems@hotmail.com if you want to help get KERRY/EDWARDS, HOEFFEL, BOLES, KUKOVICH and the rest of the Democratic Party ticket Elected!

2. Good for you
and an excellent reminder.

As wonderful as DU is it can be a godawful time sink. Have to keep focus on what's important. Everything in moderation.

5. Awesome
I have also been inspired to become a volunteer.... I signed up Friday and am anxious to try to get people registered that have never voted. Maybe raise some money... but .. My main drive will be recruiting others that have never voted and get them to realize that this is our only hope. I salute you bleedingheart...

I am heading to Grand Rapids today to get my tickets to see John Kerry and John Edwards speak tomorrow. I have never been to a live campaign speech.. it will be fun I am sure.

I hope to be able to get some advise today on what I can do to help the cause in the Greenville area...my home town...

Anyway... heading to G.R...
