Why No Sex Threads?

Maybe i'm missing something, but why are sex threads not allowed? IMO sex is healthy and a BIG part of life. I understand moderating and perhaps locking threads that get too sophomoric, but why ban intelligent composed discussion?

As long as people aren't using them for titillation or blatantly demeaning other people... I don't see the harm...

2. You weren't here when it was really bad

I don't necessarily like the rule either, but in its' defense, the Lounge had pretty much gone into the gutter by the time Skinner had enacted the rule. It was the sheer amount of sex threads and their content that doomed the sex thread to oblivion. It's frustrating, but preferable to the alternative.

Maybe it's time to try and start one in GD? The lounge doesn't have a history of "maturity" regarding sex - the temptation to get in the best one-liner has proved too hard to resist.

7. Its not so much the sex threads..................

Even though I don't agree with the locking of all but a few "sex" threads I've seen today. I think the problem is when folks start baiting the mods about it, seeing how far they can push it.

But, its not my board and I have to abide by its rules if I want to continue posting here.
