5. I can't play it untill I reformat (and buy it!) (explanation)
my WLC is screwed up so I can't install DirectX 9.0b or higher, so I can't play FarCry, Painkiller, Doom III, and SWKoToR runs only so-so. That's really sad, because I've overclocked my GF4 4600 to 700 Mhz. Once I get DX 9b I should be able to go higher without vis. artifacts.

(I hope you understood that!)

4. Screw that, man
This one I'm gonna pay for twice so either PC on the LAN can play it. I've been waiting for four years for this game... I'm gonna give id their due.

(by all accounts, this will be the best-looking FPS ever made. WHEEEEE!)

6. Is it an ID salute to a former home or ...
one big error that will result in a huge lawsuit against one unsuspecting retailer?

8. Neither: It went gold!
Gold means: When you get it, sell it.

I mean I jobbed at a Games store and the rules were pretty clear: if we got a "big" game prior to the release date we had to make sure that not a single copy left the storage room until the set date.

The reason is that in order to orchestrate a "Big" release the stores have to be supplied in time. All participating stores have to sign an agreement that they will pay a huge fine, should they be the first to sell the game prematurely.

We actually scouted to find department stores selling the game in question - voiding the agreement, as it had a clause that it should not constitute a disadvantage in the competition.

Of course it might be handled differently stateside.

Edit:
Well, I'm not too interested in Doom3. Not my genre and my System is optimized to be silent - not to be a fast game machine (although it performs quite well). If they were selling Locomotion - then I would be interested.

11. Try it anyway.
Play the demo when it's released. They've optimized down to a GeForce3. For a game like this, that's huge. It's playable on lower-end machines running XP. So, download the demo when it comes out and give it a try :)
