NEED HELP: Birthday gift for 1 y.o. boy
So I need to get a gift for the birthday of a one year old boy. His dad's a doctor and makes beaucoup bucks, so practical necessities are already more than taken care of. I know squat about kids, and could use a hand with suggestions.

Oh, just for shits & giggles, here's a pic of me and the B-Day boy (I'm the one with the eyeglasses):

He barfed on me about two minutes after that picture was taken, BTW.

1. Toys
babies always like toys. Books are also good.

2. You look very happy holding him too
get a board book or a soft book. Babies love to be read to. I'm sure the parents already have them, but maybe look for something special.

Go to a Barnes and Noble and talk to one of the people working in the kids section, they can help you.

4. Are you bi-lingual, by any chance? The gift I give to children of friends
Edited on Sun Aug-01-04 05:36 PM by grannylib
is to try to speak to them only in Spanish, starting when they are just infants. A child's ability to learn language - ANY language - is strongest when he/she is learning the 'native' tongue.
Failing that, some children's books/tapes in another language are great, if you can't speak it yourself...
