The can of air I use to clean my keyboard says not to spray it in my eye
so why do I automatically want to do that as soon as I read I shouldn't?

Seriously.

It says: "do NOT spray in eyes, ears, nostrils, or any other sensitive area." No shit it says that. Why do I immediately wonder "hmmmm.....ears, that would hurt a lot, wonder if I should try it?"

Or when I went to the Grand Canyon, why did I keep imagining flying off the rim?

When I'm driving, I'll randomly think "I could just turn right HERE right now and totally mess everything up."

Am I crazy? What's with these random destructive thoughts? I really do like myself and value my health and I love living and breathing.

1. Don't put beans in your ears, either
the compressed air could really do some damage though

3. IT's possible that it could cause an embolism or servere
bruising to sensitive tissues. Now as to whether you are crazy is another thing. I've done things that are self destructive but only realized in hindsight. If it continues and worsens you might think about counseling.

4. I think I should make it clear
I never actually DO any of those crazy things I think of. They are crazy thoughts, though. It's like there's an eternal three year old in my head....not supposed to do it? OK LET'S DO IT!!!!

Wheeee!!!!

5. Ooh, I have those thoughts too
The "I could crash this car into that tree RIGHT THERE...." and similar. If you don't follow through on any of them, and I don't, and it doesn't sound like you do, then I'd say it's just your brain exploring one of the many choices you could make, and deciding against it.

7. But
what the f*** IS that kind of thinking???

I've always wondered if it happened to other people or if I was just screwy in the head or if there was some kind of radio device implanted in my head when the aliens kidnapped me or something?

9. Well, if the aliens got you,
They got me, too. I've talked to other people about it, as well, so it's not just us, LOL. The general concensus is that if you're not acting on those thoughts, then you just have a nice imagination, and look at many possible things you could do, and make a decent decision about what things to do.

But the first time I ever drove by myself, man, was that scary in my head

6. You remind me of a scene in Annie Hall...
Duane: Can I confess something? I tell you this as an artist,I think you'll understand. Sometimes when I'm driving... on the road at night... I see two headlights coming toward me. Fast. I have this sudden impulse to turn the wheel quickly, head-on into the oncoming car. I can anticipate the explosion. The sound of shattering glass. The... flames rising out of the flowing gasoline.

Alvy Singer: Right. Well, I have to - I have to go now, Duane, because I, I'm due back on the planet Earth.

:D

11. Actually...Many Creative people have these (those)...
..kinds of thought.
Creative folks like to see the world and reality in different "colors" and will often play a game of "What if" in their mind.

Don't worry about it...You're just having fun with your brain cells! :)
