Finally got to see Outfoxed
What a great flick. I was impressed with the video footage used to support the claims against Fox News. O'Reilly makes me sick to my stomach, even more so after his attack on a man who lost his father on 9/11. It nauseated me so much that I had to get up and walk around a bit. The memos and interviews with former anchors were excellent.

And here Fox News called F911 propaganda when Hume and O'Reilly is allowed to broadcast their version of the truth on a daily basis.

If you haven't seen this yet, I would take the time to see it. *It's not showing around here but I found it needless to say*

1. It's a pretty good one, sure sure.
I watched it at one of those house party thingy-bobbers. It was pretty good, I think a lot of the people with whom I watched it were a little astounded at some of the statistics... (as was I.)

Just scary to think that there are that many completely misguided folk out there.

We've gotta show 'em the light..

7. The statistics were awesome
I was impressed with the amount of FACTS they offered *since you know how so many say the Dems lie about everything*

2. I watched half of it tonight...

then I had to give up the TV. I will finish it tomorrow. It was great so far. It really gives you a clear perspective of how they spin and manipulate. I liked the part about mixing opinion with news by saying "They said..", "It is said...", "From what I hear, people are saying..." LOL. Bastards.

I can't wait to finish it. The only small gripe I have with the documentary is the editing. You can constantly see where they have edited out/clipped the interviews making it seem like they have pieced together what people are saying to make their point. I am sure it is just bad editing, sort of low-tech/low-budget.

4. Agreed on the editing
But at least it was honestly edited - not so slick as that you would be convinced the person's words were misconstrued. It made it blatant enough to tell there was editing.

And yeah, that crap with the "Some people say" was totally true. I noticed that awhile back on Fox News.

9. Yeah, that is why I chalked the editing up to...
a low budget, the same with their cheap PowerPoint looking data points/charts. Still, this gripe is a very minor point. The information in the documentary so far is very sound. All one has to do is watch Faux News to agree.

My friend's parents and I got into a political debate a few months ago. They are big Republicans so it was a hard sell on all issues. The one thing I noticed about his father was the fact he said, "Well, some people say..." or "Some believe..." I just thought this was odd and at one point asked, who? Who is saying this? He ignored my questions and quickly brought up another attack point.

After tonight, I understand where he coined that phrase. They both watch Faux News all the time. What a gas.

3. I bought a copy of OutFoxed, and I bought a copy of Uncovered
through MoveOn.

We we have loaned both to people who might be on the fence, or to people we think need to see them.

You are right. Excellent movie.

I liked it that Eric Clapton and Don Henley GAVE them the right to use their music for free. Dirty Laundry was so appropriate!

8. Agreed on the influence
This network's spin on the news is nauseating but is a scarier thing when you think about possible swing voters or others listening to the lies told by the on-air personalities without realizing the lies they are being fed.

10. You are assuming Kerry's win will break them?
I disagree. If anything unites a group, it is a hatred for your opponent, especially when they are in charge.

Just look at us, for example. We are united, and many of us angry, toward the common cause of removing Bush&Co.

I hope you are correct.

11. mandelion, I watched Outfoxed at home and it literally made me ill...
I certainly know what Faux is all about, but I've managed to avoid its toxins heretofore.

Halfway through Outfoxed, my stomach went into knots, and I spent the next three hours in the bathroom.

I literally missed work the next day because of exposure to Faux News!
