Actually, Stargate is pretty smart and funny. You don't have to be a sci-fi fan to find Richard Dean Anderson's character hilarious. Snark is snark in ANY genre. :D It ain't no Star Trek spinoff, now THOSE are boring.

14. my real opinion

1. Sports isn't important in the scheme of things.

2. I look down on people who get all angry or sad over losing or because someone doesn't like their team. Get a grip! Go read a book.

3. Athletes are paid entertainers. They go to where they make more money and can win more games. "Loyalty" is a quaint and outmoded concept.

4. I find it harder and harder as I get older to pull for people who make more money in one at-bat than I will in the next 10 years. I am a fuckin' populist, fergawdsakes.

have since I was a little girl. And I admit, I think it's super silly to get so involved. But man, I love the Red Sox! They are on my tv right now. And, yeah, they make tons of money, but so do movie stars and yet no one complains about tom hanks' 20 million dollar paycheck for a movie.

I think there really are a few players who are loyal to their team and their fans. I think Nomar sincerely loved Boston (the city) and the fans. :shrug:
