OK... Pizza's now 45 minutes late...
I just called 'em. It's a new Straw Hat that just took over my old reliable Round Table. They said they ran out of dough and didn't have anybody who knew how to make it, but now they got some and are getting caught up. It should be here in 20 minutes (it was supposed to be 45 minutes originally - now it's been an hour and a half).

The dilemma - do I tip the delivery guy? I think yes, because it's not his fault. But this is stupid. They should've at least called me to explain. Sigh... I is hongry.

4. Tip well, but demand a discount!
Make 'em pay for the hunger pains. Don't let them push you around, Dookus. Next time, they'll deliver 2 hours late.....

:-)

5. Yeah
It's probably someone who needs the money, and it wasn't his fault they fouled up.

But I'd complain and see if you can get a free pizza in the future, as the above poster suggested.

7. I would tip
I had a friend who used to do that and he tells me of many people who called him an "asshole" and a "fucker" for showing up with late deliveries when the cooks screwed up.

"didn't have anyone who knew how to make it " part.

Yeah. Real worried.

Do they NOT know how to do pizza there?

11. ok
they showed up. The first thing he did was give me $4 off and some coupons. Then apologized heartily and explained that today was their first full day of operation, and they're going to make sure these problems don't happen again.

They handled it well.

12. I ran into the exact same thing!
It also took an hour and a half and I thought that they got lost or just forgot me. I was hungry, too. I did think about calling, but wanted to give them a chance. Well, the poor guy finally did show up, and apologized. It was Saturday night and he said that they only had two drivers. I live out in the boonies, very hard to find. I sometimes get lost. The pizza was still piping hot. These guys have the toughest of jobs. I never thought of not tipping him and neither should you. He really earns whatever he makes and, chances are good, he has no health insurance.:-(
