I never was really into skating growing up, but I recently saw this movie on IFC and it was a really great movie. The music in it was cool too - lots of late 60s and 70s stuff.
Anyone else see this film?
It's basically about a famous SoCal surf and skate crew in the 70s that were at the forefront of the skate boom.
I grew up and skated in that era. Guys like Stacy Peralta and Tony Alva were gods to me. Stacy has directed another documentary about big wave and tow-in surfing. I saw the previews before seeing Control Room, and it looks pretty sick as well.
..on one of the movie channels (not IFC). I agree, excellent documentary. Great soundtrack as well. I had to dig out my Alice Cooper vinyl after watching it.
6. Excellent movie! The director, Stacy Peralta, was a member...
of the Zephyr skate team himself (but you know that if you saw the film). That's what helped make it so great. He has a new film out know that's even better: "Riding Giants," about surfing. Catch it!
