Name a little known band you don't like
Edited on Tue Aug-03-04 02:59 PM by mvd
Keane sounds too much like a Coldplay and Travis ripoff to me. Even the lead singer's voice is similar to the Coldplay singer's.

1. Any indie band that is devoid of energy and has a scrawny mumbling singer
Unfortunately, that makes up a lot of bands. :D

(I do like some of that stuff though.)

17. They're fun live
if only because you stand at least a 25% chance of getting to watch them brawl or even break up onstage when you go see 'em.

6. Dude, firstly of all, how many...
"Worst. Band. Ever's" do you actually have? By my count it's 59. Although I agree with you on this one. And 57 of the others.

Secondly of all, your fucking Yo La Tango album cover is really starting to Hurt. My. Eyes. It's WAY too bright! Some city-scape drenched in protein-rich urine and then electrified by Owsley, General Electric and the U.S. Military, which is clearly trying to force some ensconced motherfucker out of one of those buildings.

Make. The Pain. Stop.

Oh, I guess I'll add The Presidents of the United States of America into this mix. They suck. But I guess they were pretty popular at one time so maybe they don' t qualify. And I see they have a new album out soon. SLB, will you buy it for me so that I can see if they've---as we say in the rock world---"gotten their act together"?

Okay, here's one that maybe fits: G.G. Allin. Admittedly, I never saw him perform. If he'd killed himself on-stage the way he promised, I'd have no quarrel with the man. But no, he bought it like all the other lame chumps. Another fucking liar.

You do know my Worst. Band. Ever.'s expire after about twelve minutes, right?

I think I'll have a new sig tomorrow. It is somewhat over-illuminated.

8. Franz Ferdinand, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, ad nauseum.........
Tired, tired shit. No melodies, they all sound like they went to the same singing coach who told them,"No, no NO! The idea is to NOT project the voice, sound bored, and avoid melody at all costs!" And none of them posess an adequate rythym section or anything lyrically interesting to say.

SPIN magazine sucks.

20. Exactly.
Which is why we'll rule the earth. We suck so bad we create a kind of musical black hole.

I guess I just prefer bands ripping off bands I like. I'm tired of Velvet Underground ripoff bands.

19. While you're at it,
just wipe out Brooklyn. Airlift the Black Dice, the Liars and Oneida out of there first, but then just lay waste to all homes in the Williamsburg district where musical instruments are detected. The loss of any little kids who may be taking violin lessons or whatever will be worth it when the Rogers Sisters and the Rapture are cleansed from the Earth.

18. Any and all stoner rock bands who aren't...
Edited on Tue Aug-03-04 06:15 PM by asthmaticeog
...Kyuss or made up of one or more members of same. Special dispensation to Red Giant and Fu Manchu for being around long before it got mega-trendy, but goddamn, people, we don't NEED any new Sabbath albums. I single out Orange Goblin, S'Heavy, Pentagram and any stoner band from Sweden for ultra-nasty-uber-scorn.

Edited on Tue Aug-03-04 10:44 PM by Argumentus
I'm under the impression that they're local (Las Vegas), as I've seen them open for the openers (DRI, Suicidal Tendencies) at little places, consistently, for THE LAST DECADE. They sucked ten years ago; they suck now. Find a new career, gentlemen, or at least a band that doesn't suck.
