I am kinda half-cleansing with modified fasts...yeah 900 calories isn't exactly fasting, but hey, it's better than what I WAS doing.

Here's what I had, for those of you out there who are INCREDIBLY bored:

orange juice and an apple
small bean, rice and cheese burrito (didn't eat all of it)
3 oz Diet Coke
lots of water
3 oz. mac and cheese, 3 oz baked chicken, some more Diet Coke
a pluot

The pluot was really really good.

Gonna try to do that again tomorrow, too, then go to about 1200 calories after that. Shoes shopping this weekend for decent workout shoes.

I'm hungry.

1. Good Idea...
Consider replacing the Diet Coke with Green tea or any other form of tea.....

3. Or try going completely to water
I swtiched to nothing but water a couple of years ago and it's one of the best things I ever did for my body.

4. I am
I had to finish off a half-flat two liter of Diet Coke I had in the fridge. I have a bunch of cans in the fridge in the garage but the husband drinks those so quickly I don't need to worry about it.

I am currently water-bottle shopping. I want to buy one that I can put my water and little slice of lemon or orange in and suck on all day.

8. Good move. Water actually curbs your appetite and ...
flushes all the toxins from your body. Drink anywhere from 4 to 8 glasses a day.

5. How much is three onzs of chicken?
Isn't that, like, a single bite? Are you gnawing at your foot to get out of the trap yet?

6. He he
Three ounces isn't bad. I'm not a big meat eater, as you can probably tell. I would have rather piled on the mac and cheese and left out the chicken altogether, but I was trying to get some balance.

I could easily be vegetarian. Not vegan, but vegetarian.

7. You must have SOME animal based protein in your diet
The body eventually loses the ability to process protein without ANIMAL based protein; the enzyme which breaks down protein is also the enzyme which breaks down meat. Without any animal-based products, evetually the stomach stops producing these enzymes.

This is what killed my father, a vegan for almost 30 years (since the 60s). According to the research, almost a third of Alzheimer's patients are misdiagnosed, and are actually duffering from protein deficiency. A couple of pieces of cheese a week should be enough to stave this off, if you are in any way considering a completely vegan diet.

10. Nope not considering a vegan diet
but then a vegan wouldn't eat cheese. I think you might have misunderstood me. And vegetarians get plenty of protein. Cheese isn't a problem, I love cheese.

I'm just not a huge carnivore. Got nothing against it, meat's just never been my big thang.

9. I had 4000 calories today
Two bowls of Special K with milk for breakfast
Plate of barbecued pork with a heap of fries and coleslaw for lunch
Hardees 1/2 lb Grilled Sourdough combo, medium-sized with a Dr. Pepper for dinner

But I also went on a 4 mile run in 95 degree weather today, so hopefully I burned some of it off.

11. WHOA Nelly!!!
Yeah you probably burned off quite a bit running in heat like this.

I am wanting to get back into powerwalking and running. I want to get one of those tiny MP3 players because music is the thing that motivates me to keep going.
