Names for Residents of a State?
Every state (I think) has an official name for its residents. Here are the ones I have been able to find:

AL - Alabamians
AK - Alaskans
AZ - Arizonans
AR - Arkansans
CA - Californians
CO - Coloradans
CT - Connecticans
DE - Delawareans
FL - Floridians
GA - Georgians
HI - Hawaiians
ID - Idahoans

1. I've always thought...
that people from NJ were "New Jerseyians" not ites. But then again I never really though about it, I could be wrong

5. You could be right.
I've heard all sorts of names for residents of various states. Michigan is particular seems to yield a wide variety of names.

it's either Chicagoans, Downstaters, or Flatlanders.

and Wisconsin is CheeseHeads.

The correct term is "Buckeye"

No on in ohio would call themselves an Ohioan. If asked, they say "Buckeye"

You gotta live here I guess

We swim in a crick
we warsh our clothes
we prolly won't dry them
We take guided turs when we are out of town

9. In local usage, "Hawaiians" are the indigenous Polynesian people
who have been unable to obtain Federal recognition, like what hundreds of American Indian and native Alaskan tribal nations have, thanks to our favorite neo-fascist political party.

All of us who live here collectively are referred to as "Hawai'i residents", "Islanders", or (wait for it) "kama'aina", distinguished from "malihini" or visitors.
