40. I had some good Indian food in Chicago thanks to the DU crew.
Someone mentioned Moti Mahal when we were out at dinner, and the next day I found myself right in that neighborhood.

Lunch buffet for under 8 bucks. :9

I can't pick a favorite. I like just about everything!

13. I always eat at a vegetarian indian place....
My wife is a vegetarian so when we can we try to eat at places that accomdate her diet, even though she is usually the accomodating one.

In any event my favorite restaurant in our area of Northern, NJ is bar none this all vegetarian indian restaurant. They make a dish called Malai Kofta that is just a pure plate full of heaven. But pretty much anything I've had from this place is boss.

39. Come to our house, NightTrain!
My husband is Pakistani and makes a mean chicken korma (and beef, and goat). He's a terrific cook.

As for my favorite Indo/Pakistani food, I love seekh kababs, bihari kababs, shami kababs, chapli kababs and tandoori chicken, as well as chicken biryani.

15. "Indian dish" is about as nonsensical a term as "Italian dish."
There are many regions in India, each with their own cuisine. For instance, in the Indian Ocean-coastal state of Goa, you can get vindaloo (mmmm, vindaloo). The Catholics (leftovers from Portugese trade routes) like pork vindaloo, the Muslims and Hindus have lamb. Delicious, and crazy hot (if done right).

Of course, most Indian food is not so spicy. Up in the Himalayan regions, heat isn't as important as in the equitorial lowlands. See, son, spicy food makes you sweat, which cools you down. The heat can also mask off-flavors in meat that's seen better days (something that happens much faster in hot weather).

"Indian food" is as diverse a concept as "food" itself, and can't be boiled down to a single idea of "oh, I like curry" or such nonsense.

That said, when I go to the Indian restaurant (as restaurants in the US usually try to pick a bit from the entire subcontinent), I like to roam around. Masala dosai, gosht biryani, yummy tandoor-cooked meats and breads from the north; vindaloo and other spicy stuff from the south. I pretty much like it all.

21. What wars?
Hartford pizza is as close to true Neapolitan pizza as anything made in this country.

That means it's the best in all the land.

Okay, I've never had a pizza in Connecticut, but I've heard it's even better and truer to form than the stuff they serve at Coney Island -- and in that case, I'm sold.

35. I love it all
But I usually choose saag paneer or paleek paneer (I think they are the same). I love chicken saag and lamb vindaloo. I am not much for the curries.

I love the eggplant bharta, that cauliflower-potato dish, samosa, pakoras and of course galub jaman or mango ice cream for dessert.
