Flash users... I have a question, if that's okay?
I created a really lame animation. I saved it, but it's 377k. That's huge. The animation is a 5 second anim, 12 FPS, 60 frames total. I had jpeg compressions set to 89 originally, but lowered it to 72 (and that made no difference).

Is there a better way I can reduce the size?

Thx!

2. need more data
how many pictures are you using? I usually compress jpg to 60 before importing, and then usually again in flash publishing. 60 is a great number for general use.

is the 377k the .fla format that's uncompressed, I mean, you ~are~ using the publish function and getting a .swf right?

3. the only solution I can think of is reducing .jpg size before import
use photoshop or something... of course the tradeoff is significantly lower quality of the .jpg images but significantly smaller file size.

4. what are the dimensions of the jpg?
Did you change the compression in the original file itself, or in the properties of the symbol in Flash?

Tip: with Flash it is better to use 60 or less of quality, and use gifs or pngs whenever possible.
