3. Good show. But again
you have to wonder...why is it left to Jon and crew to ask the questions and make the connections our press is supposed to be asking and making. The Daily Show illuminates the gross failure of our media. It is both exhilirating and sad to watch The Daily Show...and realize how few have the guts to stand up and call this administration on their evil policies.

4. very very sad, isn't it?
they KNOW the contempt in which they're held....you saw that critics' award to TDS, yes?

but they DON'T CARE!

not only that, but they're in complete, ARROGANT denial, especially the megalos at the very top of the heap

wait a minute, and you'll see what I mean

5. here's a thread on a CSPAN discussion with all the "icons"
Brokejaw, Rather, Jennings, plus pipsqueaks Lehrer and Woodruff

very very revealing of their total disconnect from reality, self-aggrandizing rationalization for bowing down to power, stuff like that also a FANTASTIC rejoinder from Al Franken (in the audience), which caused EXPLOSIVE laughter

hope they play it again. I have about a half hour on tape

7. Stewart rules.
It's much easier to make fun of the Bush administration than Kerry. When he DOES make fun of Kerry, it's almost charming. Even I think it's funny.

8. You can only do it in the name of comedy
If you can dismiss it as a joke then you can say it.
Pathetic
