Yeesh! How many pitchers did the poor Rockies have to go through before it was all over?

If you weren't listening to the WGN call, you missed Cubs legend Ron Santo going on a 10-minute rant about how ridiculous it was for the umpire to eject the Rockies pitcher just because he pitched a little bit to the inside after giving up a 3-run homer to Sammy. And when he heard that the Rockies manager had been ejected, he went, "I would have been ejected too!" I'm sure he would have been.

Another favorite moment from Ron: "See, pitchers today, they don't understand about this. You don't have to retaliate *right away.* You can wait a year."

Anyway, I think I've figured out why pitchers are so uptight. I lost track of who was going to get the win last night. Zambrano didn't, I know that much, which is a shame because the win was really mostly him. I sure hope Kyle Farnsworth didn't get it.

Crazy game,

2. Yeah - Farnsworth.
Can't they use a little discretion when handing out the win?

I really want to like Farnsy, but more often than not he just underwhelms me. :(

That was an awesome boxscore though -- too far away for radio, not on WGN tv :(

3. Aach. Just because we put in our (c)loser.
Thank god I didn't watch the game. Yet another blown save is too hard to take.

5. But your closer had the best media comment after the game!
Regarding Aramis Ramirez, who apparently has a good record of hitting against Chacon:

"He owns me. He just owns me. I don't know what it is."

C ya,
