What is the correct pronunciation of Abu Ghraib?

I heard somewhere that it was pronounced:
Abu giraffe. but I wonder how they get that out of g-h-r-a-i-b.

I don't see any f's in there? Can someone tell me how it's said?

3. Hell, I'm still waiting for the correct spelling of Khadafy, Qadaffi, etc.

I currently pronounce this "Aboo Grabe," but to be honest I don't care if I get it right until we finally reach a consensus.

"Abu Giraffe" was then used to poke fun at his mispronounciation.

As for the correct pronounciation, "a-boo grehhb" is about as close as you're gonna get.
