Got my wisdom teeth pulled out this morning....
Now I'm waiting for the bleeding to stop and the novocaine to wear off.

Right now it seems like the bleeding is contained, and the entire right half of my face is no longer numb. I can't WAIT to take these god-damned gauze out of my mouth.

The surgery happened over 2 1/2 hours ago, so both immediate problems should be taken care of pretty soon. Then all I have to worry about is taking my pain meds.

Oh and by the way, ask me anything.:P

1. Did they give you drugs?
Vicodin or something? Take one before the numbness totally wears off. And good luck to you.

3. Definitely follow flamingyouth's advice
I had all 4 wisdom teeth pulled at once. I got home, took a nap, and when I woke up the anesthetic had worn off and the pain was indescribable. I'm talkin' rather-be-dead kinda pain.

6. Have you eaten yet?
Definitely eat before you take the Vicodin. Yogurt or something dairy based. Otherwise, it makes you :puke: .

8. No, I can't eat at all.
And I've taken Vicodin before on an empty stomache, and I didn't have any problems.

7. I have to have this done...
and have been putting it off, all four at once. Two of mine came in lying flat, so that should be a fun ride. Lets just hope for some good drugs.

I don't want to remember a thing and if I do, it better be lollipops and champaign dreams.

9. Sure your doc told you
but in case he didn't don't drink with a straw and don't smoke. If the blood comes out of the socket you get something called 'dry socket' which is really painful. My son got his out last summer and this happened. He also said something about the second or third day being the worse. Take the meds. He had Rx motrin and Vicodin and was told to stagger it so nothing ever wore off completely.

11. I just did.
Took a Vicodin, and I really don't feel any pain at all yet. I'm really more concerned about this dry socket thing another poster told me about. I don't smoke, and I know not to drink from a straw, but I had to spit out some blood earlier while changing gauze.
