3. We See War planes Over Colorado Springs & Pueblo Every Day
Peterson Air Force Base is right outside Colorado Springs - in fact, it shares its runways with the Colorado Springs Airport. They have a squadron of C-130 transport planes that takes off almost every day and flies down to Pueblo, where they do "touch-and-go" landings at the Pueblo Memorial Airport.

They take off heading east, make a 180, fly out to Pueblo West, make another 180 (right over my house), return to the airport, touch down, and repeat the process. All day long. And when atmospheric conditions are right, they make my entire house shake...

6. I hear and see the planes.
I work across the street from Dobbins Air Reserve Base in Marietta, GA. One weekend there was an air show. The Blue Angels were there. They practiced all day on Friday, so I saw a free air show.

4. Most of my early years were spent on or near Air Force Bases.
Got really used to hearing fighters & cargo planes. The most impressive sound came from the B-36--the B-29 on the left gives you an idea of scale.
