anyone from the buffaLo area?

on a whim, my friends and i decided to get tickets to see the patriots pLay the biLLs in buffaLo. now we're gonna make a weekend out of it and probabLy go to canada and such.

i'm excited to go to buffaLo.. shouLd i be? :P

if anyone has any suggestions for touristy or party type things to do out there, i'd be greatLy appreciative. :D

1. Check out Niagara Falls if you have the time!!

I'm from Rochester which is sort of near there. Don't know any touristy stuff though. Make sure to see at least one of the Great Lakes and check out the Canadian side of Niagara Falls.

3. Buffalo is really a GREAT town!

stupendously friendly.... the taverns there make everyone welcome. Most restaurants are unpretentious yet several high-quality fare. Try a Beef-on-Weck sandwich (since chicken-wings are now nationwide.)

There a great downtown boulevard -- ELMWOOD AVENUE -- with great bars and taverns. And, on the other side of culture -- one of the nation's best art museums, the revered Albright-Knox. I've been to Buffalo on business many times, and I LOVE it!

(Not enough to move away from D.C. but I still it's an underrated city.)

7. Drive an hour or so to Rochester and take the Fast Ferry to Toronto

then drive on back down to Buffalo. I haven't been on the ferry, but we saw it last weekend when it was coming back into port in Rochester. It is huge, has some very nice amenities on board. Quite the different kind of thing for this part of the country.

8. Don't forget to root for the BILLS!!!

Buffalonians are maniacs for their Bills.

Try taking a ride on the Miss Buffalo (boat on the waterfront), checking out the Frank Lloyd Wright houses, the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Elmwood Avenue (restaurants, shops).

Buffalo is big on music and partying. Thursday on the Square features bands outside downtown (I think it's Ellicott Square).

Go down the lake shore to bars like Mickey Rat's to party.

Good Greek diners, and chicken wings (nobody in Buffalo calls them Buffalo wings) can be found everywhere, along with good pizza.
