5. Congratulations!
But is it true that you ever become a non-smoker having once been a smoker?

I last smoked on 3 March this year, which makes 5 months now without. I feel comfortable about it, I don't think about it all that often and when cravings come they don't last all that long. I've even started to shed some of the weight I put on - I was looking like a hamster a while back!

On the other hand I'm not going to be complacent about it. I stopped for three years once, then I had one for old time's sake, then another, and a nother, and then I had to buy some to pay back the friends I'd blagged from, and once you have the packet... Well I'm sure you know what I mean.

It's a slippery slope - but stay upright, it's worth it! :)

6. Keep up the good work.
And learn how to be content being a non-smoker. I've been a non-smoker since October after 40 years of smoking, and I'm totally into being a non-smoker now. I can't imagine ever going back.

18. KEEP YOUR MEMORY GREEN
Serious. I quit a year ago May 5 and everytime I am tempted to have "just one" (there is no such thing) I refresh my memory to the hellish moments.

19. Outstanding! It Took Me 24 Years To Make The Decision...
Edited on Fri Aug-06-04 04:20 PM by arwalden
so I can appreciate how proud you must feel and the great sense of accomplishment.

NEVER go back! Never "cheat" just once (or you'll have to restart your bragging-rights counter).

I'm over 2 years smoke free... and my savings bought us a pop-up camper last month!!

What will you do with YOUR savings??

20. Way to go!
Good for you. Congrats.

I've been trying to quit for so long.

Do you mind to share how you quit?

Didn't Mark Twain say something to the extent that quitting smoking is easy, he did it 20 times!
