3. Sammy
If you're using InternetExplorer, just right-click on the picture and go to "Properties" then copy the address and paste it into the message.

right-click and check the properties to get it

1 important thing to note, bandwidth is expensive so don't do this Joe Schmoe's site w/out asking first. :)

5. What does that mean?
Do you hurt someone when you copy a picture from them?

6. Do you hurt someone when you copy a picture from them?
Yes For instance I use Photobucket. Photobucket currently allows 2,500 megabytes of bandwidth per month. So if someone else is using one of my photos it uses up my bandwidth.

Look setting up your own photo site is easy.
Here are two free sites to uplink them to.
http://photobucket.com/
http://www.snapfish.com/

1. go to a free photo site, like http://photobucket.com/ and open an account
2. follow their directions to upload the picture to their site
3. Open the http://photobucket.com/ album where your photo is
4. right click your mouse on the photo and select properties it will read http:/and a long photo address
5. Right click on the description and copy the WHOLE address (sometimes you have to pull down on the mouse to see the complete address)
6. Paste the whole address in your message
8. press preview and you should see your picture
If you see only a box with a x in it chances are you didn't get the full address.
If you only get a small version of your picture you have to make sure you opened the album you created at snapfish and selected the picture that is the size you want (not the thumbnail that shows from outside the album)

7. You can especially if it is a small hobby type web site.
Linking to a picture on another web site could chew up that web site's bandwith allowance pretty quickly as each time the DU thread where the link was posted was clicked on by a DUer or a lurker at DU the picture would be downloaded again. This could lead to excess bandwith charges to the web site owner, or his web site access could be shut off by his ISP once his/her agreed upon bandwith allowance is used up.

If it's a big web site like a major newspaper etc. or one that is high volume and therefore has lots of bandwith available, it's usually not much of a problem. However, some major web sites will still have a policy to block other web sites linking directly to their pictures as described in the posts above. In that case when you try to link directly to a picture, you'll get a little box with a red "X" instead of seeing the picture you're expecting.

8. Does that happen
when you right click on a picture and then click save to pictures. So that you can save it on your hard drive or put it on your desktop?

I am very bad at explaining thing but here goes .

Okay I have MS XP so this is the only way I know how to do this. As you can tell I’m a copy and past kind of gal no brains needed.
Here’s how I do it. For Photobucket.

To save a photo hover over the picture.
Right-click on the picture.
A menu will appear
Click save picture as

Now that you have saved your photo
Click the start button.
Click my pictures.
You should see your photo

Now on Photobucket
You will see a menu that says Photobucket
add picture-------------browse
click browse my pictures
highlight the photo you want to move to Photobucket
A menu will appear
click open
click submit on Photobucket site
It should show up there.
