What we have here are three men who want to get their names in the paper. Unfortunately, the story will read "killed today were..."

Not only do they have the entire weight of the load hanging outside the stability triangle, they've got the steer wheels on the bottom machine turned to the side. They are just asking to have this whole thing turn over on them.

Worse, it's totally unnecessary. I used my calipers to measure the idiot standing on the Toyota's rear counterweight. Then I measured the number of idiots between him and the ground. The load's only being lifted about sixteen feet; that big Komatsu's got an 18-foot mast on it. Easy lift, especially since this is a diesel forklift and therefore just packed with power. (An LPG or gasoline forklift can't lift another forklift, much less one with a load on its forks. It's no problem for a diesel.)

They are so glad I'm not the foreman here; you'd think I was George Bush after I was done creating all the job losses this worksite would suffer.

Since this looks like some sort of construction job--is anyone building a stadium? This looks like the underside of a grandstand--one would think there's a rented telehandler like a Skytrak or a Lull sitting somewhere on the jobsite already. This kind of lift is why you rent those machines.
