I'm drunk and watching the Flintstones Season One DVD - Ask me anything.
Okay, not that drunk, but I'm on my second glass of wine, and I haven't eaten anything today sonce having a falafel at 2:00pm.

I rented the DVD today, to watch while I'm packing, and it ROCKS! So fucking funny, and the animation is so simple, so clean, and so aestetically pleasing, I can barely stand it.

1. Do you think that maybe someday Fred will win the fight
and that then that dog will stay out for the night?

3. I think it's a cat, and no.
Let's face it...Fred Flintstone died millions of years ago. So did the cat.

8. Oh, that was much later...
like season six or something.

I think you might be the only person who likes Gazoo... check out the reviews of the Flintstones on "Jump the Shark":

10. I disagree. Yes the Flintstones went into a totally ...
different direction in its later years, Bewitched, Phyllis Diller, Adams Family, etc., all appeared in many of the episodes. Very different in tone and format from the start, but I liked the change. To much of the same thing never last, which is why so many sitcoms and cartoons come to an end.

Gazoo brought to the cartoon high camp and probably did turn off the purist, but high camp is what life is all about IMO. LOL.

9. does it have the bathroom bird on any of the episodes?
You know, the big bird that was in the bathroom, and functioned as the shower. That bird would be showering Fred , and look straight into the camera and squawk "hey, its a living" (which is a big joke down where i work, at least to those cool enough to get Flintstone references!)

12. I like the "dino-steps"
you know, like on the big dinosaurs...those weird scaly things on their backs functioned as steps... the opening/closing credits on the DVD are not the same as the syndicated ones we're all used to, and there's a scene where Fred walks up a dinosaur to get his dry-cleaning (like, when did he get another change of clothes?!).

13. Yes...
... there's a DVD of 'bonus material', including the pilot episode ("The Flagstones"), and a Winston ad where Fred and Barney are smoking and being total Chauvanists...it's great!

Fred (watching Wilma and Betty work hard in the backyard): Gee, Barney, look at them working"

Barney: "I hate to see them work so hard"

Fred: "Me too...let's go out front, where we can't see 'em"

They then comence to sit on the front stoop and smoke HUGE Winstons the size of their arms:

"Winston tastes good, like a cigarette should."
