What music goes best with beer?
What music just sounds best with a beer?

My vote is Willie Nelson. There's just something about drinking a beer and listening to Willie Nelson songs that goes right together. I'm doing that right now and I think I should be in a country western bar.

Any other votes?

9. They suck.
But if you're drunk enough, all you can do is laugh at their silly album covers and bad-pun titles.

42. heh, i have a lot of bands like that.
manic hispanic is one. it's el hefe from NOFX changing around popular punk songs into hispanic themed songs. For example: the Ramones "Chinese Rock" turned into "Mexican Tar" and remains a herion themed song. They're really good covers too.

32. Hey, I actually like Gang Green.

They played classic '80s thrash punk -- the REAL kind, not the lame-ass horseshit that's passed itself off as "punk" for the last decade.

And they had a signature song about drinking, called (duh) "Alcohol."

We're gonna die when the sun comes up
We'll drink until we drop
My blood's 100 proof
We're gonna stumble, twist and crawl
99 bottles of beer on the wall
I'd rather drink than fuck

Chorus:
No doubt about it, I can't live without it
No doubt about it, I can't live without it... alcohol!

Alcohol!
And it's my destiny!

You got the beer
We've got the time
You got the coke, gimme a line

(repeat chorus, then guitar solo)

We're gonna die when the sun comes up
We'll drink until we drop
I'd rather drink than fuck
You got the beer
We've got the time
You got the coke, gimme a line

(repeat chorus)

14. Drink enough beer, it sounds good
"Roll out the barrel, we'll have a barrel of fun..."

"I don't want her, you can have her, she's to fat for me... HEY!"

You didn't ask what is the best music... just what goes with beer.

Besides, there was the Weird Al thread a little earlier, and I've had polkas on my mind.

21. OK
I can see that. I used to drink at this German place in Cleveland that played German music all the time, including Polka. I never got used to it, but it was less annoying after a few.

4. How about Let it be by the Replacements and A.M. by Wilco. And
the single best song to get drunk and depressed to is "Here comes a regular" by the Replacements on the album "Tim". That is my favorite song on my favorite album ever.

10. Wilco is a GREAT choice
I haven't heard too much replacements though. Its one of those bands I hear about but can't name any of their songs. Maybe I should check them out.

29. If you're a Wilco fan and want to "try out" the Replacements, I suggest..
the album "Pleased to meet me" or "Don't tell a soul." There are obvious similarities to Wilco. The Replacements leader Paul Westerberg has many traits that one could associate with Jeff Tweedy. Certainly, both are brilliant.

6. Live electric blues
In my younger days I spent many nights in Chicago blues clubs, where the beer flowed and spirits soared.

If you don't dig the blues you got a hole in your soul.

Hell, after sufficient quantity of beers you might even sing karaoke country. And if you don't know the words just throw in a YEEEEEEHAAAAW or say you're gonna put a boot in somebody's ass or whatever
