What is your going to bed routine?
(Trying to procrastinate studying and writing here folks, help me out a bit, wouldja?)

Ok so what do you do when you go to bed? What's on your bed? Do you have a nightstand? Do you read? Watch TV? Listen to music? Pick lint out of your bellybutton to relax? Do a crossword? All of the above?

Does it have to be really cold? Ceiling fan? Window open? AC? Sheets? Blankets? Nothing?

Any animals on your bed? Certain things you have to do to fall asleep? What position do you have to be in? Does it have to be quiet? Totally dark?

For some reason I find it fascinating to know people's going to bed routines, so post yours here! Let's see just how freaky you are!

I'm doing mine as the first post, so as not to take away from the questions.

1. Pretty simple.
I climb in, put my head down on the pillow and fall asleep almost immediately. I go to bed early and get up early. My dog Gypsy always slept on my bed until about a year ago when she could no longer get up on it. She now sleeps at the foot of the bed with the puppy. :-)

3. That is pretty simple!
Wish I could do that. Sigh.

2. Mine
This time of year, top sheet only. I use one pillow (unlike the husband who sleeps with FIVE pillows). I have a nightstand with too much piled on it and a huge lamp.

I like to read OR watch TV, but I can't do both at the same time. When I am actually going to sleep, I turn it to the audio music channels and listen to Soundscapes (on DirecTV). During the day, Soundscapes makes me want to claw my own face off, but when I'm trying to go to sleep, it's heaven. Realllllly soft music, not classical, not whales squeaking and shit, just sooooft pan pipes and things like that. Heaven.

I like the ceiling fan on high and the AC is usually on 76 or 77. (Texas) I have to sleep on my stomach, though if I'm exhausted, my back will work.

A cat sleeps curled up in my armpit all night. It's slightly annoying because it's like she has to practically be right on top of me and everytime I turn over I nearly squish her, but we've both adjusted over the years.

Hannah Rose, the dog, sleeps on her bed on the floor right next to me.

Mr. Moonbeam_Starlight, his big furry self, is next to me sounding like Darth Vader having an asthma attack.

It's a king sized bed, wouldn't have it any other way. If they made them bigger, we would have gotten it.

I never wake up in the night. I dream a lot and remember them a lot. They are freaky. Sometimes they are about bush. Shudder.

I love my pillow, it's the best.

Ok now you!

4. I need noise
I grew up in the country but went to college in a mid-sized city. Ever since then I can't fall asleep if it's too quiet. So my 'go to sleep' routine is to listen to Mike Malloy! He's also my morning routine noise since I listen to whatever part of the show (usually everything after the first half hour or so) I missed after I fell asleep.
