Poll question: A question for the interior designers and home remodellers
Today I painted my living room a light green ("woodland mystery" to be exact) with white trim. My question is what to do with the outlet and light switch covers? They are just the plain white plastic ones.

1. Paint or buy new
Here's your options:

- You can paint the switchplates or
- You can buy matching or contrasting switchplate.
- You can paint them white like the trim.

If you get new switchplates, take a swatch of paint with you. Green is notoriously difficult to match up.

2. Rule of Thumb
Match them with the paint you dont want them sticking out like a sore
thumb. Lightswitch covers are not supposed to be noticed.

3. Wall Color
In my opinion why bring attention to something like a outlet. By painting the same green color they will fade away!! Accent only positive features.

4. I prefer...
... to purchase new CLEAR plastic covers and paint the BACK of them with the same paint. Works beautifully.

5. Keep them white - and
buy some cheap white plastic covers for one wall. Paint those green.

Replace one wall's worth of covers with the green ones.

If the all-green scenario looks better than the green with white bits.
