No, really...buy my house.

It really is for sale (finally). Have a look if you'd like to relocate to Vancouver Island (a Nuclear Weapons and Bush Free Zone).

Actually, the listing is kinda cool... I didn't know they could do the 360 degree thingy. Have a virtual tour of CampAmok!

2. Moving to Victoria, about 1.5 hours south.
Moving to a condo with no mortgage--divorce, new life, etc. Plus I work more often in Victoria than Vancouver, so it makes sense.

I hate to part with the house, actually. It's pretty sweet!

My husband has been interested in moving away from the States. I do not want to but would consider Vancouver Island (he would prefer Vancouver Island and has mentioned it before). Any land close by for someone with 6 horses?

Edit for spelling, Duh!

4. I had 300+ horses in the garage.
There are some very good stables nearby, but you couldn't keep horses on this property; it's on the side of a mountain, and most of the acreage is trees and rocks. It's prime ankle-breaking territory, for horses.

Plus, you'd almost be neighbours with Elvis Costello and Diana Krall.

6. It's not impossible:

There are actually many American ex-pats here full-time, and lots more who have summer homes here. 9/11 was a big boom (no pun intended, really) for US Citizens relocating here.

Last I checked, there was even an American club here, and they have immigration info. If I can find the link, I'll post it. In the meantime, here's the Canadian Government info in immigration:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/index.html

on edit: (Careful if you do a Google for Canadian immigration info, there are a few private companies who are scammers with very official-looking websites--real Canadain Federal Governement sites end in "... .gc.ca").

12. yes, very
I'm in the Bay Area in California. Prices here have been going insane for a very long time. A 3,400 sf home on a hilltop with ocean views... mega-expensive.

13. It is...
...and there's a typo on my listing, too. The square footage is actually 3800, because the garage/workshop isn't included in the floorplan, and is 500+ square feet.

It's very weird. Evedn where I live, if I were to buy the same house on the Mainland, which I can see from here, It would be three times this price.
