2. Of course, I have tickets to next Friday's game at Wrigley
The game he'll be pitching next. Oh well, I'm thrilled for him.

4. It always works out like that
My friends had tickets to Clemens' 300 twice and he didn't get it either time. Then of course, they weren't able to go when he did get it!

Anyway, enjoy the game next week!

5. Outstanding!
I've always been a fan of Greg Maddux.
I was fortunate to have seen him pitch several times when I used to travel to San Diego in the mid 90's and attend many Padres games. The first time I saw him pitch he did ok, but was overshadowed by Alan Ashby pitching a no-hitter into the eighth inning. Great game!

6. He's been my favorite pitcher for a long time
Doesn't throw hard like Clemens/Randy Johnson. A smart pitcher, probably the smartest around. And, the most consistent.

FYI - Press conference on ESPN News now.

7. This deserves at least my one kick
He "might" be the last to win 300 in a long time, if ever.

9. Huge Greg Maddux fan...
Well, I became a fan of his, because I root for the Braves. One thing I love about him, is he makes all not real fit people think they can do the amazing. He is often called the Professor because of how well he knows the game, and the opposing hitters. A radio talk show host refers to Maddux as a witch, because his pitches look so hitable, and then take that late bend, making Hall of Fame type hitters look like little leaguers. He must be using witch craft. A true professional, and an accomplishment that won't be matched for a long while. Congrats Maddux...Kevin.

10. Maddux is a great pitcher
The guy isn't an overpowering pitcher he just nibbles you to death with his control. I've never seen a pitcher with his control.

Maddux used to piss me off all the time when he'd pitch against the Reds. I just couldn't understand how the guy could be so dominate and not throw smoke.

12. A sweet game!
The Cubs are healthy, finally. They either run away with the wild card now, or we all learn that it's just never gonna happen.
