7. No hate...
It is not his acting ability.

Something just doesn't click for me. Toby and Matt Damon.

CHR was good, too.

5. Loved it!
Great feel-good movie (I love happy endings!) The book is worth reading too. Interesting look at "behind-the-scenes" at the racetrack.

8. I used to go to Santa Anita..
..and Del Mar and Los Alamitos with my grandpa as a kid, back in the 50's. I've seen the movie three times, and can't help getting choked up. They did a magnificent job.

10. I used to go to the track whenever I could.
Horses are the most beautiful animals - so strong and yet graceful at the same time. I can get choked up just watching them run.

13. I loved it.
It's not about horse racing, though. That's just the setting. It's about the triumph of the underdog, and about the human capacity to overcome the worst that life throws at us.

If that theme interests you, it's well worth the watch.

19. yes it was
Some of the very best actors we have - Jeff Bridges, Tobey Maguire, and Chris Cooper. Beautifully photographed, edited, and acted. I miss going to Emerald Downs in Auburn, WA when I see or think of this movie.

20. We had the HDTV feed from HBO for it
and the scenery was beautiful.

I especially like the scene where they just let him run to "learn to be a horse again." It was an autumn wonderland.

27. Yes, great movie
We actually saw it in the theater and later read about the real Seabiscuit in some SoCal papers. A really feel-good movie that makes one wants to stand up and cheer all the underdogs - the two- and the four-legged.

34. I caught the first 30 minutes, but I had to leave
there was more important business to take care of - still, I do plan on seeing the rest of it now.

I admit going into the movie skeptical, but it hooked me.

38. it was OK but...
...the trouble with true stories is that they sometimes seem very fake in a movie. The whole crippled tiny horse with the huge jockey thing...it just wasn't satisfying because it was so over-the-top. I mean, sure, it's satisfying as a real-life story, but as a piece of entertainment in a movie it didn't meet the plausibility test. I guess it's a case of truth is corny.
