letter to the editor
I wrote this letter two months ago. The freeper rag just now published it.

A Record letter writer recently derided patriots who protest the war in Iraq and
criticize the morons who mismanage it while our troops suffer and die.

His main complaint was that our protests and criticisms enable our enemies and
threaten our efforts to win the war.

Our attack on Iraq isn't some kind of Sacramento Kings game we can win if the faithful sell out ARCO Arena and cheer loud and long.

The Iraqi people, even some who were to be counted on as allies, are determined to have their way with their land, resources and culture now that they're convinced President Bush can't complete the job of liberating and rebuilding their country as he promised.

However, our team in Iraq comes home in flag-draped coffins in the dark of night -- and will continue to do so until we properly equip and train our troops to attack and conquer insurgent strongholds.

What enables our enemy isn't patriotic criticism of the war but the gross mismanagement of the crusade by Bush and his handlers.

Can a patriot at least expect that, if the hoopleheads in charge are going to make an imperialistic play on another country, they could at least be honest about their intentions and carry them out in the most efficient and beneficial manner to our armed forces?
