3. Not enough choices!
My favorite's always been Wendy, and Warmth of the Sun would have to be right up there, too.

4. I should have replied to earlier threads
Maybe could have gotten "In My Room" on the list. Instead, I went with "Don't Worry Baby"

6. Okay, Kokomo... BUT what happened to
In My Room?

In My Room
(Brian Wilson, Gary Usher)

There's a world where I can go
and tell my secrets to
In my room
In my room

In this world I lock out
all my worries and my fears
In my room
In my room

Do my dreaming and my scheming lie awake and pray
Do my crying and my sighing laugh at yesterday

Now it's dark and I'm alone
but I won't be afraid
In my room
In my room

12. Wouldn't It Be Nice
Sung while imagining that you could one day get married.

Think of it from a gay perspective next time you listen. It's interesting.

13. goooooo-ooo-oood, goood vibratioooonsssss........
brian wilson at the peak of musical and personal madness/genuis...it was the most expensive single ever released at the time and brian wilson spent nearly 6 months perfecting it.....

funny how a good many of the songs listed here are off of "pet sounds"...although probably their most artistic and brilliant album, it was one of their worst selling. just proves history can be the best and final judge.

14. Pet Sounds
was a chart "failure" because it was such a radical departure from the Beach Boys formula. No songs about surfing and cars here, and the "traditional" Beach Boys fans expected exactly that. Already, by this time the existence of the Beach Boys had become a schizophrenic entity with Brian making the records with the studio musicians, and the band going out on tour attempting to perform them live - without Brian.

Pet Sounds was really more of a Brian Wilson solo project than anything. The single "Caroline No" was even credited to "Brian Wilson" in its first pressing. But of course, the harmonies were a component of the sound, even on this radical departure of an album, and Mike Love even got to sing lead on "Sloop John B", the resulting effect making it seem more like a group effort.

Whatever it was, it was a fucking brilliant record. And the fact that it pushed the Beatles into making Revolver, and then Sgt. Pepper makes it even that much more incredible.

18. I declare fatwah on these Beach Boys.
The awfulness of their music makes them infidels of the first order. I exhort the faithful to proclaim their shittyness from every mountain top.

...negative elitist trying to spoil people's fun. All they want to say is "That sucks" or "You have lousy taste" without ever bothering to back up their assertions. Methinks these people need to get out more!

20. A few points
Just because I don't like the Beach Boys doesn't make me elitist.

How can I back up an opinion, which is completely subjective?

All I did was come in and declare fatwah on them and you get all mad as though I had attacked you.
